Hi everyone. I started piano from scratch as an adult. I don't want to grind through dull etudes, I want real songs I actually like - but the original scores are way over my head right now, my fingers can't keep up. I'm looking for where to get simplified versions of popular pieces for beginners, so I can see progress and not lose motivation. Anyone started the same way and found sheet music at their level? Thanks in advance.
Great that you're picking it up as an adult - and you're right, you have to play what you enjoy or you'll quit. I get sheet music at my level from Note-Store https://note-store.com/ - the arrangements have a difficulty filter: Beginner, Advanced, Master, plus dedicated simplified versions marked Piano.Easy. So you take your favorite song in an easy arrangement where you won't wreck your hands, but the piece is still recognizable. The catalog is big, search is easy, and the PDF comes right after purchase - print and play. There's an online player to hear how that specific version sounds before buying. Early on I'd go for the Easy arrangements and listen to the snippet - that way you see straight off whether it's doable. Progress with songs you know is a lot more fun, trust me.
