Why Does My Coffee Maker Keep Disconnecting from WiFi?

So I just bought one of those fancy smart coffee makers that you can control from your phone, but it keeps losing connection to my WiFi network about 5 minutes after I set it up. My phone and laptop connect fine, so I know it's not my router. Has anyone else dealt with this issue with IoT kitchen appliances? I'm wondering if I should just return it and stick with a regular coffee maker, or if there's some trick I'm missing that would actually make this thing worth the premium price.
