Has anyone switched from coffee to matcha?

I've been a hardcore coffee drinker for years, but I'm looking to break the caffeine jitters habit. A coworker swears by matcha and claims it gives sustained energy without the afternoon crash. I'm curious if anyone here has made the switch and what your honest experience was like? Also, is the ceremonial grade stuff actually worth the extra cost, or am I just paying for the aesthetic?
