Has Anyone Actually Switched to a Standing Desk Successfully?

I've been considering a standing desk setup for months now, mostly because my back is starting to protest after 8+ hours of sitting daily. The marketing claims sound great, but I'm skeptical about whether people actually stick with them or if they end up being expensive desk decorations. For those who made the switch, did you go all-in right away or gradually transition? Also, any recommendations on brands that won't completely break the bank but are still sturdy enough for multiple monitors? I'd love to hear some honest experiences before I commit to this purchase.
