The 2020 Ford Explorer hybrid is a no-no because of the very severe quality control issues which are mainly; transmission stalling, loose control arm bolts, and airbag recalls. J.D. Power gave it a very poor reliability score of 72 out of 100. The first models of the sixth generation had very poor fitting and finishing issues like misaligned trim and clunky doors, which led to more than 20 complaints to the NHTSA. The post-2021 version is a better option since it comes with improved quality and fewer headaches during daily driving.
